I admit to having been slightly frightened by the cover of this book. I like to keep copies of the publications in which I have stories on a shelf in the living room and that cover is slightly, well, horrific, and intentionally so. I've come to like it, by the way, just as I have become proud to be inside the pages. Ignoring my own story, "The Ice Maidens of Europa", there are some exceptionally well-written stories in this volume.
